I always knew that I wanted to go into a multi-disciplinary design field that would inspire and challenge my creativity. For me, architecture was the perfect answer, and CAAD at Mississippi State University was the perfect fit.

For the entire month of June, architecture students traveled the country of Italy. Beginning in Milan, five days were spent exploring the city and beginning their studies. They then took a train to Genova where they spent six days before departing for Napoli. Students were also given the option of free travel days, which some used to explore the cities of Florence, Rome and Luka. The group then reconvened in Padua before traveling to Vicenza and Verona. The cohort included all year levels from rising freshman to rising seniors.
While working on their designs for a new building on the site, students were challenged to not only focus on experimental, new ways of building with timber but also to think about the purpose of a library when working on their designs.
